A woman of devout faith and unshakeable devotion to God, Christeen began her Christian journey at Little Rock Baptist Church in Arabi, GA. She later served faithfully alongside her husband at Greater Gum Creek Baptist Church, where she worshiped for many years and was affectionately known as the First Lady.

A lifelong learner dedicated to personal growth, Christeen proudly returned to school and earned her nursing certificate at the Riley Institute. She embraced life with enthusiasm, whether she was nurturing her flowers, setting sail on cruises, or shopping for a new outfit. Yet her greatest passion was caring for those around her. Known for her immense heart, Christeen touched countless lives by freely donating food, clothing, and financial blessings to anyone in need, exemplifying true Christian grace through her generosity.

Her legacy endures through her beloved husband of 48 years, Reverend Joseph Haugabrook. Her warmth and love will continue to shine through her four children: Patricia (Gary) Williams, Anthony (Jeannette) Walker, Vicki Haugabrook-Hawkins, and Crissy (Tony) Taylor. Her brightness and spirit carry on through her eight grandchildren—Renee’, Venesia, Brandon, Da’Ja, Jaylen, Braxton, Winter, and Celina—and five great-grandchildren—Jon, Riley, Cheyenne, Val, and Reign.

Christeen is fondly remembered by her devoted siblings: Addie (Hurley, Sr.) Shields, Willie (Bernadette) Walker, David (Genese) Walker, Michael Walker, Tony Walker, and Clifford Walker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ardis Zell Walker, Sr. and Flossie Mae Walker, and her siblings: Ardis Walker, Jr., Elizabeth Walker, Johnnie Mae Pitman, John Lewis, and Roosevelt Walker.
