Dudley Alvin Gray affectionately known as “Alvin” he passed away on April 26, 2026 leaving behind a beautiful legacy of quiet strength, kindness and unforgettable memories. He was reared in the Forest Park community of Georgia. Alvin built deep roots and lasting connections early in life. He loved and dominated the sport of Basketball. His exceptional height gave him the leverage to excel and it was well shown on the court. His talent and dedication would lead him to become the Star player for the next three consecutive years for the Foerst Park High School Panthers. Alvin finished up the school year leaving a great sport legacy, his score of rebounds are noted in the score books of the game during his time. It still remain untouched to this day reminding us of his true character as a focused athlete. He was a proud class member graduating with the class of 1978 of the Forest Park Senior High School. After the completion of high school he would go on to farther his education at Troy State University. He continued his athletic talents there on their team. The sport of basketball never left his heart it was the fabric of who he was a great sportsman.
Alvin’s memory will continue on in the hearts of his family, lifelong friends and the community he called home. He will be remembered for his sweet smile, his athletic grace and tranquil spirit. The ones we love don’t go away: They walk besides us everyday in a peaceful memory reminding us that eternal love is never broken. Alvin’s deep love for his family was never questioned because family was always first in his life. He lived out the devotion of the Good Samaritan he was generous, kind and always willing to aid or come the rescue of others, friends or neighbors. He would help anyone even if it meant giving them the shirt off his back. “A good man he was indeed”
Alvin confessed his love for Jesus Christ by joining the church where many of his family had called upon for generations as a place prayer and a space commune with God. He joined the Damascus Baptist Church of Butler, Ga. Where he found fellowship, love and a sense of family being in the place his parents sang and prayed long be him. Favor was found upon him when he was chosen to be an ordained Deacon following the path his father. To be chosen to serve in God’s house was a great honor to him and he served with all his sincerity.
Alvin’s life was an adventure it was never without fun, laughter and good times. He loved fast cars to name a few Dodge Challenger, “Super Bee”, Dodge Challenger 1970 model which was his pride and joy, it was a car he and his son restored. He actually owned a 2015 Dodger Challenger, he loved the sport of Baskertball, college and high school. Alvin was an industrious man, whatever he found his hands to do his did just that. Alvin loved good Soul Food his comfort food was fried chicken and sweet potato pie. Alvin became a certified licensed commercial truck driver, severing with Collins Brothers Trucking Company. In later years he stated a lawn care business by serving the needs of those in his community.

This remarkable life will be remembered by his loving family who are left to cherish his life. His father Deacon Nelson Gray, Children: Alvin Demetrius Gray, Shemelia Sada Gray, Schatavia Sheerese Gray, Brothers: Michael Gray, Ceiser Gray, Gregory (Angela) Gray Jason Gray, Timmie (Zsa Zsa) Gray, Anthony Gray, Felita (Lawanda) Gray Sisters: Sharon Gray, Bernice Chatman, Diane Gray. The heartbeat of his life was his offspring the grandchildren: Caise Terry, Soliel Gray, Zendaya Gray, Zsa Zsa Gray, Roderick Ware, Dior Flores, Mihke’ Boler and a host nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends who will miss him.
