Helen Louise Mathis Dixon was born on October 15,1932 in Reynolds, Georgia to the late James Mathis and Helen Williams Mathis. She grew up and attended the public schools of Taylor County. She grew into adulthood and found her niche in life.
As a young girl Louise as she was affectionately called was known for her hard work and devotion. She grew up in a God-fearing Christian home and confessed her love for Christ by being a member of Free Run Baptist Church.
Louise met and married the love of her life Willie Lee Dixon they lived and built a wonderful life. As Louise started her own family, love and devotion was the core of her home. She was a true homemaker that was focused on rearing her children in a loving environment. Her greatest joy was cooking and serving her family she did this way into her golden years even when her health was declining she still wanted to cook her children a home cooked meal because it was her passion, her way of loving on her family.
On May 25, 2025 after a period of illness she traded in this life to “climb that mountain where the chilly wind don’t blow” she simply moved in the room with the lord. She spelt quietly away Sunday morning as the angels welcome her to come home.
Louise saw many ups and downs in life but God carried her through them all. She was preceded in death by her husband, daughter Maxine Heath Person, and son Michael Dixon, Sr. Michael Dixon, Jr.
Left to cherish her memory are her lovely children Sons: Leonard Carson, Earnest (Jan) Dixon, Ricky Dixon (Angela Parks), one she reared as her own Rickesely Dixon Daughters: Geraldine Carson, JoAnn Farley, Detta (Linwood) Harvey, Joyce Dixon (Timothy Matthews), Helen Mathis Floyd Brothers: Wilbert Mathis, Bennie Lee Mathis, Jackson (Betty) Mathis, Sisters: Gwenett Mathis, Elizabeth L. Williams 21 Grandchildren, 27 Great Granchildren, Two devoted cousins Betty Bailey and Francine who were so supportive and her daughter and son who were caretakers Helen and Ricky who were her rock and will be missed with an everlasting love. A host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who will miss her too.
