Pastor Josie Pearl Snipes Beck was born on May 9, 1932 in Butler, Ga. to the parents Felix Snipes, Sr. and Lillie Mae Turner Snipes. She grew up and attended the public schools of Taylor County.
Josie was born into a strong hardworking family who was not a stranger to good work ethics. Josie was born into to family of historical ties that are long remembered and talked about to this day.
Mother Josie later years moved to Atlanta and continued to build a life for herself and her family. She met and married the love of her life James Albert Beck Sr. They live and shared a life together til his death.
Mather Josie love the lord and was dedicated to her faith and belief. Worshipping with family was the tie that did bind. Mother Josie sister started a ministry in Atlanta years ago. It’s was in 1988 that Mother Josie was elevated to the office of Pastor and chosen to carry the ministry on. She proudly and honorably served as pastor Holy Ghost Caravan Cathedral Church.
Mother Josie loved church, her grandchildren was the beat of her heart. Her sons was her pride and joy. It always amazed her as to what respectable men she had reared. Mother Josie enjoyed cooking delicious meals but baking was her signature amount family who knew.
She was proceeded on death her siblings Sammie Lee Snipes, Arthur Snipes, Walter Snipes, Sr. Dr. Bishop Felix Snipes, Jr. Homer Snipes, Dollie Mae Snipes, Ellen Lee Snipes, Nonie Gardner.
Our beloved Pastor Josie Beck heard the voice of Jesus bid her to come home. On July 7, 2026 she entered sweet rest.
She is survived by her Son: Andre (Sherry) Snipes, Alton (Jean) Beck, James Albert Beck, Jr. one sister Mabel Lumpkin, six grandchildren a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
