Marshall Clifford McCrary

December 10, 1943 — May 19, 2026

Detroit, Michigan

Marshall Cliff McCrary was born December 10, 1943 in Butler, Georgia, to Edna Carter and Fred McCrary. Affectionately known as Cliff, he grew up in Taylor County, where he learned the value of hard work and determination at an early age.

In 1961, Cliff moved to Detroit, where he built a life, raised a family, and established his career. He married Dorothy Miner in 1962, and together they welcomed four children. Later he was blessed with two more sons and around 1970 he met Nancy Green in whom he shared a loving partnership until her passing in 2024. Together they welcomed four more children.

Cliff spent more than 25 years working for Amaco Oil as a truck driver, a career he took great pride in. He also owned and opened a trucking company plus a tow truck business. Known as a true jack of all trades, Cliff could fix almost anything and was willing to help family and friends. He loved fast cars, fast bikes and good blues music.

On May 29, 2026  Cliff peacefully departed this life.

He leaves to celebrate his life memory are his children Marshall Jr. Philip, Timothy, Darrell, Luqman, Nichole, Edna and Shawn, along with his grandchildren, great grandchildren, extended family and many dear friends.

He preceded by his partner Nancy and his two sons Lurton and Daryl.

Though he may be gone from our sight, his spirit will remain in our hearts forever.
