Mother Corine Montgomery, a source of love, compassion, and a gentle servant departed from her earthly vessel on September 15, 2025 at the gentle age of 87.
At an early age Mother Corine devoted her life to serving God. She joined Mt. Gilliard Baptist Church. She attended the public schools of Taylor County. She later met and married the late Clyde Montgomery, Jr., and to this union, seven children were born. Mother Corine was a very caring and loving person. She worked as a machine operator at Thomaston Mills and Bib Mills in Ft. Valley, Ga. She was known for her amazing service to Christ and her powerful prayers. She was also a member of Word of God Tabernacle in Roberta, Georgia where she served in the Mother’s Ministry. Throughout her journey, Mother Corine enjoyed serving the Lord, singing, cooking and reading her Bible. She was known to get down on her knees before the Lord crying earnestly and with great passion for family, friends, and others.
Proceeding her in death was her Parents Essie Mae Dugger and Buddy Jordan, her late husband Clyde Montgomery, Jr; her sisters Doris Bivins , Geraldine Bell, her brother C. J. Digger, her daughter-in- law Tara Montgomery. and sister-in-law Lillie B. Crawford.
Her quiet spirit touched and impacted the lives of many. Our love and memories of her will remain forever.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her daughters, Patricia (Willie) Hicks of Butler, Georgia; Delois Monford of Reynolds Georgia; Carolyn Andrews of Warner Robins, Georgia; Sandra Montgomery of Thomaston, Georgia; Constance (Rodney) Sharpe of Snellville, Georgia, Rickey (Gwendolyn) Montgomery of Roberta, Georgia and Gregory Montgomery of Spring,Texas. Sisters-in-laws Lillian Dugger Reynolds, Ga. Alice McDonald & Effie Williams both Indiana, one she regarded as son Ray Montford Reynolds, Ga. one who she regarded as a daughter Overseer Betty Martin Roberta, Ga. She had 19 grandchildren, and 28 great-grandchildren. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
