Mother Lola Bell Russell

November 20, 1934 — February 26, 2026

Lola Bell Russell, began her divine journey on November 20, 1934. She was brought into this world by her loving and hard-working parents the late John and Marie Threats of Butler Georgia. Lola was the second youngest of seven siblings who proceeded her in death Richard Threats, John Threats, James Threats, Boggie Threats, Ida Mae Gray, Gensey Threats. Lola received her formal education in the Taylor County Public schools. She graduated from our R.L. McDougald High School.

She gave her life to the Lord at an early age and became a member of the Beulaland Baptist Church. Lola’s service to the church was that of a devoted Usher and choir member whose melodious voice could be heard before reaching the doors of the church. Lola spent many years of giving worship and of her time to the church it earned her the title, the mother of the church. It was on this journey of life that Lola found the love of her life who would love her and cherish her Robert Russell, Sr. They made a commitment on June 5, 1954 as they pledged their love forever. Their love span over 50 years of devotion until his demise came on December 10, 2008. It was to this union that five children were reared. One of which proceeded them in death Viol (Marilyn) Reeves. Lola was a hard worker and was a very productive woman. Her work career was unsurpassed by any other. She worked many years for the Oxford shirt company of Reynolds Georgia. and the Hoisery Company in Pottersville. The greatest portion of her work career was devoted to art of housekeeping, she provided this very important service for over 30 years in the Warner Robins area many of her clients that called upon her service admired and cherished her like family and treated her as such, her Career of housekeeping arts ended in 2016 upon her retirement.

Lola possessed a charismatic spirit of love and generosity. She loved to cook and enjoyed seeing people enjoy her delicious meals. There was never a time that anyone was not Welcome to sit at her table. Everyone was always welcome to eat. Lola possessed a style of her own she command authority when she walked in any room, her style, her sophistication and her ability to put fashion together in a very stylish way always brought attention to how she presented herself. She enjoyed growing some of the most beautiful flowers, working in her flower garden was her place of inner peace. She was known by having a green thumb. A pillar of strength is who she was inspiring her family, especially her children desiring to see the best out of each of them and motivating her grandchildren alike. Her heart was more rarer then gold, and it was more like a diamond. Her hugs was filled with love and sincerity .

Lola‘s departure came on Thursday night February 26, 2026. She slept away quietly at home surrounded by those who loved and cared for her.

Left to cherish her loving memory are her four surviving children, Robert (Aerwanna) Russell, Jr. of Douglasville, Ga. Willie (Gloria) Russell of Butler, Ga. Marie Nell (Ricky) Banks of Warner Robins, Ga. and Betty (Marshall) Colbert of Butler, Ga two she regarded to be her sisters who were devoted friends Betty (Julius) Holmes of Mauk, Ga. Sue (J. T.) Edwards NY, a sister-in-law who was more of a sister, and a loving sister-in-law Florence Threats of Florida 12 Grandchildren, 19 Great Grandchildren and host of cousins, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends who will cherish her memory.
