Shannon Mantez Flowers was born in Thomaston Georgia to the parents of the late Stella Johnson Flowers and the late Solomon Flowers. He grew up an attended the public schools of Crawford County in which he graduated. After the completion of high school he continued working on his most prized self to be the best he could be. He farthered his studies by learning the art of Masonry to become a Master Brick Mason. He loved the field of this art and joined his family in the business.
It was during his young adult life he took a liking to drag racing he loved the sport and racing the car himself. Shannon possessed a genuine spirit of friendship and love for those in his circle he cared for deeply; to know Shannon was to love him as brother, friend or neighbor. Those who was on common ground with him knew him as “Shaun” this name caught on and popularized the man himself. Shaun was known for his cooking skills. He would even find peace by casting his hook in the water to fish. His heartbeat and joy was his son who he loved and adored. His mini him. Shaun was a skilled young man beyond his years. He wanted another skill under his belt that was a passion and that was Truck Driving he was a transporter of logs in the logging industry.
Shannon was a faithful and dedicated member of The Roberta Church of God By Faith under the leadership of Elder Sampson. He loved and supported his church with his time and resources.
It is said that in each life some rain must fall. Shaun had his fair share of storms and tornadoes in his life. Shaun was a true warrior with each battle he faced in his life. He fought his way through his last storm on July 3, 2025 the day before Independence Day. Shaun saw true Independence as the lord freed him from this world of unfair trials. He traded all this in for a life of peace by moving in the room with the lord. Shaun’s memory will never be lost because he left enough love in this unfriendly world to touch us all. He was preceded in death by a brother Stanley Johnson.
Left to cheris his memory are: Son Ethan Shannon Flowers, his bonus Children he reared as his own Tyderick Williams, A’ niya Hammock, Layah Hammock. Brothers: Stacey ( Bernice) Flowers Roberta, Ga. Dwanovah Steele Kathleen, Ga. William “Chubby” Willis Bryon, Ga. Solomon ( Horis “Peaches”) Flowers Roberta, Ga. and a host aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends who love him dearly.
