“Swing low, sweet chariot, coming to carry me home. I looked over Jordon and what did I see a band of Angels coming after me, coming to carry me home.”

Our beloved Mother Viola Montfort Ross age 98 caught that chariot this evening Saturday September 19, 2026 at Harbor View Health Care Facility in Thomaston, Ga. Surrounded by her dear family who loved her dearly.

Mother Viola was loved and remembered as the quoting Scripture mother always reminding the church of how we were to live in the present world. Some called her “Aunt Vi” one of our favorite endearments we fondly would call her. On any given Sunday or Revival she was sure the be the one woman cheering squad to back any preacher preaching the truth. A women of faith and love who will be long remember for willingness to serve in her church with all her energy. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin. May Aunt Vi take her long deserved rest.

Keep the family in prayer as they find healing and closer as they reflect on a remarkable life. Funeral celebration arrangements will be forth coming in the days ahead.
